Sowing instructions
Seeder sowing instructions:
The most convenient method to sow Happy Lawn for larger areas is with a sowing machine. The sowing instructions below are based on our experiment. Please read here how we have conducted this experiment
- Detach flower seeds at the back of the Happy Lawn bag by pulling the “pull here” strip indicated with “step 1”
- Take out the flower sachet “step 2”. The sachet will be visible after pulling the lid
- Prepare soil, level surface, remove stones and weeds
- Determine correct amount of grass and flower seeds based on suggested sowing rates. Sow when there is no wind to prevent seeds from scattering unevenly
- Open the Happy Lawn 5kg bag
- In a clean bucket, mix the contents of the 5kg Happy Lawn bag with the contents of the flower sachet. Avoid mixing more than 5kg of grass seeds with flower seeds at one time
- Transfer the mixed contents from the bucket in a seeder
- Sow evenly using a clean, dry seeder
- The ideal seeding depth is 5-10 mm
- Irrigate frequently to avoid drought
- Mow one-third of the grass length per cut, do not mow lower than 40mm
Give starter fertilization 4 weeks after sowing. The legumes inside the mixture should do the natural fertilization after this
Manual sowing instructions:
- Detach flower seeds at the back of the Happy Lawn bag by pulling the “pull here” strip indicated with “step 1”
- Take out the flower sachet “step 2” The sachet will be visible after pulling the lid
- Prepare soil, level surface, remove any stones and weeds

- Open the Happy Lawn 5kg bag and sow the grass seeds in two crossed directions for optimal coverage
- Open the flower sachet
- (Optional) mix flower seeds in a bucket with (light)sand for the ease of homogenous spreading. Use approximately 1kg (light)sand for 1 sachet of flower seeds
- Sow flower seeds evenly
- Rake gently and roll the surface to ensure good contact between soil and seeds
- Irrigate frequently to avoid drought
- Mow one-third of the grass length per cut, do not mow lower than 40mm
Apply starter fertilizer after four weeks; legumes in the mix provide natural fertilization after this period
