Packshot lucerne

Barenbrug presents a new variety from our breeding program in France. This variety is listed in French on the Herbebook list. It shows a outstanding protein content per kilogram dry matter. This results in an excellent lucerne variety in combination with rations based on high energy from corn for example. One of the characteristics of this variety is a dark green leaf colour.

Extremely high protein
This new variety Barnard has, in addition to a high protein content, a high dry matter production either. The dry matter production combined with a high protein content results in a high protein production per hectare.

Excellent health with high resistance against anthracnose and verticillium
The breeding on our breeding stations results in very good health characteristics from this new variety. Barnard has a high resistance against anthracnose and verticillium wilt. More healthier crops means also a longer lasting crop.
