What is the daily dry matter intake?

A horse consumes an average of 2% of its body weight in dry matter each day. This means that a horse weighing 500 kg requires approximately 10 kg of dry matter per day. Based on a dry matter yield of 10,000 kg per hectare, the following guideline can be used.

During dry periods (summer), regrowth is slower, which means fewer horses can be grazed per hectare. This can be compensated for by providing supplementary forage (hay) in the pasture.

Producing hay only

Is your field intended exclusively for hay production? Then choose Hay Master. Under optimal conditions, Hay Master produces between 13,000 and 15,000 kg of dry matter per hectare.
